In addition to the new berth itself, we will need to build “Beyond Carbon Infrastructure” on some of the currently unused land within our terminal site. This will include additional train unloading equipment, storage facilities and related infrastructure.
This will be located on the currently unused industrial-zoned area located either to the east or to the south of our existing land-based terminal infrastructure, and early engineering studies have already been completed.
Like any new infrastructure development of this kind on port lands, this will be subject to environmental review and stakeholder and rightsholder consultations. The nature and scope of the review process is currently being determined, and Trigon will be reaching out to the community in the months ahead.
