Trigon and Friends Invite You to Follow the Path to the North Pole Again This Year

Prince Rupert, BC (November 25, 2025) – Now returning for its second year, the Trigon and Friends Path to the North Pole officially becomes a signature holiday season tradition in Prince Rupert. On Sunday, December 14th, the community is invited to once again experience the transformation of part of the Cloudberry Trail into a festive winter wonderland.

The inaugural version of this event in 2025 was an overwhelming success with some 800 participants. Presented last year as a partnership between Trigon Terminals, the Kaien Trails Society (KTS), and the Lester Centre of the Arts – now recognized as the event’s Legacy Partners – Path to the North Pole has grown into a wider community collaboration.

Additional friends and partners this year include B&B Heavy Civil and PNW Electric, with additional assistance from SJL Excavating and EECOL Electric. Together with Trigon, these partners have contributed to installation of permanent electricity along the first phase of the Cloudberry Trail – an investment that will better ensure Prince Rupert’s holiday season is brightened for years to come.

The trail will open at 5:00 p.m. and will feature glowing lights, treats, roaming elves, and a magical North Pole experience. At 5:30 p.m., the celebration will move indoors as the Lester Centre welcomes the community to warm up with Santa and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa before a 6:00 screening of a classic holiday film. All parts of the event are free to attend.

“We were thrilled that Path to the North Pole was so well received by the community last year, and are glad to see the partnership behind it grow,” says Trigon President, Craig Olley. “Our Legacy Partners laid the foundation, and our new friends have stepped forward in a significant way to help create a lasting holiday tradition through an investment in trail infrastructure.”

“We are fortunate to live where trail recreation is accessible in every season,” says KTS Board President Steve Milum. “We’re excited to once again bring the Cloudberry to life for the holidays, and the addition of permanent power will make the trail an even more valuable part of our community’s recreational infrastructure.”

The event will proceed rain or shine, and the holiday display along the Cloudberry Trail will continue to be lit in the evenings through the holiday season. The trailhead is located immediately beside the Lester Centre of the Arts, where parking is available, and the route is fully accessible.
