Trigon and Friends Invite You to Follow the Path to the North Pole

Prince Rupert, BC (November 21, 2024) – The holiday season is all about traditions, and this year Trigon Pacific Terminals (Trigon), Kaien Trails Society (KTS) and the Lester Centre of the Arts, are pleased to offer the first of what they hope will become a new one for residents of and visitors to Prince Rupert.

On Sunday, December 15th Trigon, together with the Kaien Trails Society (KTS) and the Lester Centre of the Arts, will host the “Trigon and Friends Path to the North Pole”. Beginning at 5:00 p.m., a portion of the Cloudberry Trail will be lit up and transformed into a winter wonderland. The public is invited to come out and take in this festive display along a scenic portion of the expanding local trail network.

From 5:00-5:30, a team of specially dispatched elves will be on hand on the Cloudberry Trail, giving out free tickets for entry to the Lester Centre. The Centre will open its doors at 5:30, and will serve hot cocoa in the lobby, where the community can warm up and greet Santa, prior to a screening of A Charlie Brown Christmas beginning at 6:00 pm.

“We greatly value our relationships with our many community partners, whose important work we support through our Community Investment Fund,” says Trigon CEO Rob Booker. “And it’s even more rewarding to come together with some of them to co-create this addition to the seasonal events that help make the holidays such a wonderful time in Prince Rupert.”

“Trail recreation is all-season recreation,” says KTS Board President Steve Milum. “We’re pleased to have this opportunity to transform the Cloudberry into the path to the north pole, and to encourage more people to come out and enjoy it this holiday season. We hope many of them will be back out on the trails in the spring, summer and fall.”

The event will proceed even in the event of rain, and the display along the Cloudberry Trail will continue to be lit up during the evenings until Boxing Day. The trailhead is located immediately beside the Lester Centre of the Arts, and the trail is fully accessible.

Trigon and its partners intend for this to become an annual event, potentially with an expanded display and opportunities for more local businesses to become involved in future years.
