Trigon supports academic and athletic excellence with $40,000 in scholarships and sports fund.

Prince Rupert, BC (July 2, 2024) – Trigon Pacific Terminals Ltd. (Trigon) congratulates the local and regional graduating students who have been selected as its 2024 scholarship recipients.

Each year Trigon awards up to $25,000 in scholarships (five awards of $5,000 each), based on academic standing. Four scholarships are awarded to students attending high school within School District 52, and who reside in either Prince Rupert, Port Edward, Lax Kw’alaams or Metlakatla. A fifth scholarship is awarded to a student residing in Terrace or area and completing high school in School District 82.

Three of the five awards are given to graduating dependents of a Trigon employee. Known as the Bernard W. Willers Memorial Scholarships, these awards are in honour of a beloved past employee.

“We are extremely proud to support these local students in their post-secondary studies”, said Rob Booker, CEO of Trigon Terminals. “Each recipient has truly demonstrated how deserving they are, and we look forward to celebrating their successes as they continue their education journey.”

This year’s scholarship recipients are:

Representing a further annual commitment of $15,000, the TTSF provides financial support for all school teams, in addition to helping to offset travel costs for teams who qualify to compete at the provincial level.

“We greatly appreciate Trigon’s commitment to athletic and academic opportunities for our students,” says Aja Lihou, Vice Principal of CHSS. “Community support like this contributes to the quality of the local high school experience, and helps our students to stretch their wings and to pursue higher levels of competition and study, wherever that may take them.”
